THE CHILDREN'S MINISTRY PROGRAM

Community Christian Center places a high priority on the children who attend, whether they are visitors or belong to member families. We want their experience with us to be a positive one. We want each child to know that Jesus loves them.

The Children’s Ministry Program includes ages 3 through 4th grade. Due to space limitations, there are only three classrooms. Little Lambs are age 3 through 5; Kingdom Kids are grade 1 through 4.

Reverend Wanda Lee oversees the Children’s Ministry Program. She believes that teaching children the truth about God is a commitment not to be taken lightly. Children’s teachers must be members of the church for at least one year and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Teachers are asked to commit to at least 6 months of service because it is important for the children and their teachers to form a relationship that is based on love and respect for one another. They also feel it is crucial for the teachers to have time in the regular church services, so they are asked to attend at least one service per week. A flexible schedule is in place which meets the needs of the children and the teachers.

C.C.C. celebrates communion on the first Sunday of every month. Children in grades 1 through 4 remain for the adult service that day, and the Little Lambs go to their regular class. There is a Bible study and fellowship time for children every Wednesday night, which may include snacks and a craft, or Bible story videos and games. We encourage children to bring their own Bibles if they have them, and to pray for each other, asking God about their concerns.

Our teachers are sensitive to the fact that many children today are living in troubled homes and may have had little or no exposure to God’s Word. If a child is a visitor or is new to the church, the teacher will often explain the plan of salvation, and how they can be born again.

Early morning Bible study on Sunday is from 9:30 to 10:20. Ages 3 through 10 meet in one room. Later, children’s Sunday School is held during the adult services, after praise and worship time, from approximately 11:30 to 1:00.
